Johnson County Snowstorm Clean Up January 2019

Overland Park – The city will open two storm debris drop-off sites starting Tuesday, Jan. 22. 1) Young’s Pool parking lot at 8421 W. 77th Street; 2) St. Andrews Golf Club parking lot, 11099 W. 135th Street. Both sites will open Tuesday at noon and close at 5:30 p.m. After that, the sites will be open – contingent on weather – from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Jan. 27. Olathe – City crews are asking residents to collect storm debris and place them at the curb by Monday, Jan. 28. Debris should be less than 15 feet in length. More info is available on the city’s website .

Shawnee – The city plans to open up a storm debris drop-off site at Johnson Drive and Renner Road, but is still waiting for this weekend’s weather to pass before posting a schedule of operations.

Lenexa – The city said Monday they will make a decision about storm debris drop-off until after the next storm passes.

Leawood – The city will start pickup on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Residents are asked to place limbs and bundles less than six feet in length by the curb.

Fairway – The city says they are still working to finalize a curb-side debris collection schedule, but said Monday the collection won’t start until next week.

Merriam – Residents are able to drop off storm debris at the Public Works facility at 6901 Knox from Jan. 16 to Jan. 23 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding Saturday, Sunday and Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
