2013 Holiday Splendor – Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum

Have you experienced the holiday splendor of the Overland Park Arboretum during their two special two-weekend events…if not, you are in for a treat! The Overland Park Arboretum (Luminary Walk) has an absolutely delightful and magical experience!  Even if you have been there, I would venture to guess you will return to enjoy the candlelit trails, the sparkling ponds from the glow of the holiday ambience, bonfire and the sheer charm of the woods at night! It’s truly magical! It’s a perfect way to kick off the holidays!!

Listen to Dickens Carolers, native flutess, vocal quartets & other live music.  Enjoy sipping hot cider as you stroll along the winding paths and beside the shimmering ponds, enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride ($3 per person), and take in the botanical gardens as you have never experienced them before. This is a rare opportunity for those who appreciate nature to experience the thrill of the nighttime woods – especially during the holidays! Experience one of the coolest outdoor train sets in operation in a backdrop of a real old fashion caboose!  For the children, Santa Claus will make his appearance from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each evening.

You may purchase your tickets in advance this year at any Hen House grocery store or at the event!  Admission is $7.00 per person; children 5 and younger are free. The special weekends this year are:  November 29-30th and December 6-7th.

Bundle up and bring the entire family! Come with a little patience, hand warmers in the pockets and all! You will find the experience breathtaking as you enjoy the fresh, crisp air delight in the children as they take in all the sights! This is a perfect way to kick off the holiday season!  Hope to see you out there!!  We’re planning on enjoying the holidays in a very magical way!!  Come join us!  If we see you out there – we’ll be thrilled to take photos and email the to you!!

Of course – enjoy this most festive season with all the holiday events in Kansas City!
